The live at Circo Massimo of Rome was a surreal experience and will remain in memory for a long time, like all live shows involving Travis Scott, for better or worse.

Kanye is also on stage for a surprise performance.

August 7, 2023 was the first ever date of Travis Scott’s Utopia World Tour, at the Circo Massimo in Rome, a live show that will be talked about for a long time. The evening was heralded as full of surprises, seasoned with sagacity by ultra-earthly sets and spectacular light shows, and more flames, fake explosions.

Surreal, hyper-realistic atmospheres, like Scott’s latest album.

Suddenly a figure completely covered in face by a gray balaclava enters, someone shouts it’s Kanye, but mostly people are interjected.

The figure approaches Travis removes the balaclava, and the two exchange a warm embrace. It’s Kanye West. Promptly Travis Scott announces into the mic:

‘There is no ‘Utopia’ without Kanye West, there is no Travis Scott without Kanye West, there is no Rome without Kanye West.’

This, in fact, is the controversial Atlanta Rapper‘s first public performance and appearance since the series of controversies and quarrels involving him, including violent comments about Pete Davidson, Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend, anti-Semitic and racist rhetoric, and nonsense uttered about the illness of his close friend Virgil Abloh.

Kanye West joined Travis Scott for a performance of YE‘s track ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing,’ from the 2007 album Graduation, an undisputed masterpiece, and ‘Praise God,’ from the 2021 album Donda.

Scott presented a series of songs taken mainly from Utopia, but without keeping his most famous pieces, such as ‘Highest in the Room’ and ‘Butterfly Effect,’ off the setlist.

The Circo Massimo was the venue for Travis Scott’s performance in lieu of the previously scheduled concert at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt, which was cancelled. Scott interacted with his fans trying to give further explanation, ‘The event at the Pyramids in Egypt will definitely be held, but due to the high interest and logistical details, some time is needed for organization. I will keep you updated on the date which will be announced soon. Love you all,’ he wrote on Twitter.
