"An object of art": Nike Air Force 1 Louis Vuitton by Virgil Abloh are made by the best Italian artisans, in the LV atelier in Fiesso d'Artico, Veneto.

Latest AF1 LV releases pass down his legacy to future generations

After months of anticipation, rumors and indicrections, the Louis Vuitton Nike Air Force 1s have seen the light.

In addition to the exclusivity of the collaboration between the luxury French Maison and the sportswear giant, the careful craftsmanship-which we will talk about later-and the premium materials; these sneakers represent a real legacy left by Virgil Abloh.

Yes, because the Nike Air Force 1 Louis Vuitton sneakers were created by the designer in June 2022, on the occasion of the LV Spring/Summer 2022 fashion show. After almost a year-and six months since his passing-the two brands decided it was time to continue the project started by Virgil.

The launch will be accompanied by an event destined to be remembered: an extraordinary exhibition at New York’s Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse – from May 20 to 27.

An immersive experience where the 47 models created by Abloh will be displayed and presented in a surreal and colorful location reminiscent of an enchanted forest, complete with a tree house. The event will be followed by several art installations around the Big Apple.

The capsule consists of nine Monogram versions: two mid-cut and seven low-top models.

The two-tone versions pay homage to the rainbow theme introduced by Abloh, and are made of premium suede, while the triple white versions introduce a gold interaction, echoing the theme of the genius designer’s debut collection at the French Maison, and are instead made of soft calfskin.

Louis Vuitton has released a short video and a stunning gallery of images showing how the monogrammed white AF1 was made: from the shape used, to the various components of the upper, and finally how they were assembled.

Like a real piece of art.

As the copy of the launch post on Instagram reads, “An object of art” the Nike Air Force 1 Louis Vuitton by Virgil Abloh – in fact – are made as if they were true masterpieces of leather goods, by the best Italian artisans, in the LV atelier in Fiesso d’Artico, Veneto. One of the most prized pieces of made-in-Italy craftsmanship, made with the highest quality materials.

On the choice of the Air Force 1, we gather Abloh‘s own testimony in designing them:

“It’s an iconic shoe, it was created long before me, but it took forty years before you could even think of matching it with a T-shirt or a dress….”

VIRGIL IS STILL HERE.
