In this list, you’ll find some of the “1,000 Deadstock Sneakers,” the recently published book by Larry Deadstock about the ideal sneaker collection.
If you’re a sneaker enthusiast, you’ve undoubtedly heard of Julien Ojea, better known as Larry Deadstock, the famous Parisian collector whose name resonates as an ode to sneakers. And now, the man behind one of the most extraordinary sneaker collections on the planet has shared his world through the monumental book, “1,000 Deadstock Sneakers.”
Larry Deadstock has dedicated his life to sneakers since he was a teenager, falling in love with the models worn by his favorite sports heroes like Michael Jordan and André Agassi. His passion blossomed when he acquired his first pairs after seeing the shoes worn by Macaulay Culkin in an iconic photograph alongside Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson —the Reebok Pump Blacktop. From that moment on, Larry began collecting sneakers with extraordinary care and attention, turning his passion into a profession.
In 2018, he opened his first boutique in the heart of the Marais district in Paris, which quickly became a haven for local enthusiasts. His store became a meeting place for those who share his passion for sneakers.
Now, the iconic collector and retailer, in collaboration with acclaimed streetwear journalist François Chevalier, has unveiled the stories and behind-the-scenes details of some of the most iconic sneakers in history. The result is a limited-edition book called “1,000 Deadstock Sneakers.”
The term “Deadstock” comes from the jargon of sneaker collectors and is used to define an authentic pair, never worn, produced in limited quantities, and no longer replicable. Because these models are no longer available from official retailers and never will be again, they have earned the title of the most desirable and precious collectibles in the market, the true “Holy Grail” for every sneaker enthusiast and collector.
From this book, we have selected the sneakers that every true enthusiast should have in their ideal collection.
