Hiroshi Fujiwara, one of the most celebrated streetwear designers, is auctioning off his most iconic clothing and personal items. More than 50 of the designer’s fashion, art and collectibles will be put up for sale at Sotheby’s Hong Kong. It was in 2009 that Hiroshi Fujiwara last put some personal items from his coveted wardrobe up for sale, an event that gave rise to an extraordinary catalogue encompassing all those rare items sold at astronomical prices, remaining indelible in the memory of those who admired them.
After a good 14 years, the streetwear designer has finally decided to open up his coveted wardrobe again, arousing great enthusiasm among fashion fans. From 11 to 26 July 2023, an auction entitled ‘Personal Effects‘ will be held at Sotheby’s Hong Kong, auctioning off more than fifty fashion pieces, personal items, artworks and collectibles. Although the full list of items has not yet been disclosed, we are already aware of some very valuable pieces, including a 1936 Levi’s 506XX T-back Jeans jacket, a Nike Dunk Hi x Fragment Design prototype and a precious vintage Haut à Courroies by Hermès.

The history associated with these trainers helped to further increase their value. With that pair of Jordan’s, the legendary champion scored an impressive 37 points against the Utah Jazz and led the Chicago Bulls to a 93-88 victory. After the game, Jordan autographed the shoes and gave them to a young ball boy.

Last September, Sotheby’s set another sales record with the jersey worn by Jordan during his final season in 1998, which sold for $10.1 million. In 2021, Sotheby’s headquarters in London sold the first Jordan Air Ships for $1.472m, equivalent to approximately €1.384m.
Soon, from 18 to 25 July, another auction dedicated to Tupac Shakur will be held at Sotheby’s New York location. This time, the item up for auction will be a gold ring with rubies and diamonds that belonged to the rapper, which is estimated at between $200,000 and $300,000. The crown-shaped ring was personally created by 2Pac to celebrate his engagement to Kidada Jones and features an elegant design with a gold band adorned with a central cabochon ruby and two side pavé-cut diamonds. The three gems are set on a diamond-studded gold band, and the ring is engraved with the inscription ‘Pac & Dada 1996‘.
